Colorful sea slug canvas print
Colorful sea slug
Colorful sea slug is showing off her underwater dancing skills. It looks like she was deliberately posing for a photo as she is looking straight into the camera. Slight current that was on that dive caused the nudibranch dancing effect.
Sea slugs, or nudibranchs just love to hang from the sea grass that grows on artificial reefs, such as scuba diving wrecks. Um El Faroud wreck is always a good place to look for these colorful creatures. Look carefully on the railings on the stern of the wreck. This is a place where you can normally see a number of different colorful sea slugs.
The other popular type of sea slug that you can except to see there is a purple nudibranch. This also happens to be one of the most popular sea slugs that you will find in Maltese waters.
Keep in mind the size of those tiny colorful creatures. Their length usually varies with 1cm being the smallest and around 4cm being the largest one. Bearing this in mind, it is extremely easy to miss them. A good life hack is to keep your flashlight or video light on. This way the sea slugs will shine and reflect their color when you point you light on them, making it easier for you to spot them.
