Tugboat St. Michael postcard

Just returned from your scuba diving in Malta and the memories are still fresh? All the wrecks that you’ve seen.. the caves.. the reefs.. How about getting a postcard with your favorite wreck? Dive into the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea again but this time without getting wet 🙂

This tugboat St. Michael postcard makes a great post-dive souvenir. They come in a compact size, measuring just 127 x 178 mm, or 5 x 7 inches. They are cool, they are beautiful and they are very affordable (see below for shipping fees). Perfect for mailing to friends who need a relief from scuba diving blues or for yourself.

The postcards are printed on a heavy duty 350gsm (17pt) paper and come in a smooth matte finish and hence are shine-free, so no glare.

History of the tugboat St. Michael

Tugboat St. Michael was built in 1944 in Canada. She is one of the 250+ tugboats built in those days. In Malta, she served as a tugboat, helping all kinds of other, bigger ships to enter and exit Grand Harbour in Valletta. Eventually, she flooded and partially sunk along with Tug 10 while she was moored. In 1996, the company that bought both tugboats came to conclusion to pass the ships to diving community.

In 1998, tugboat St. Michael and her fellow friend – Tug 10 were scuttled in the bay of Marsascala. The distance between the wrecks is approximately 50 meters, and there used to be a line connecting the two. The line is now gone, but following along the reef is a sure way not to miss the wrecks.
