A cave in Migra Ferha canvas print
Cave in Migra Ferha
The divesite
The cave in Migra Ferha is a narrow grotto-like cave in the vicinity of Migra Ferha dive site. The site is a very interesting, yet quite unpopular one. The dive site is located on the south-west coast of Malta, next to Dingli cliffs. The dive site is famous for the car wrecks that lie at about 40 meters deep. There is also a motorcycle wreck south-east of the entry-exit point.
Precautions and access
While the dive can be access from land, it is strongly advisable to dive it from a boat. The reason is the access to the site. You would have to leave your car on the cliffs at approximately 30 meters above sea level and make your way down to the water level with all the equipment on. There is approximately 150 steps done by the fishermen yet the path is quite rough. Make sure that all divers are fit enough to climb back after the dive if you opt in to dive it from the shore. It is also a very good idea to get a bottle of fresh water down with you to share it after the dive. Also please make sure that there is someone who knows exactly where the dive site is located. There is no emergency exit apart from the one you’re going to use nearby.
The dive in Migra Ferha
The dive site can be dived in both north-west and south-east directions from the entry-exit point. The north-west direction is arguably more popular as this is where the car wrecks are and the cave is located. Only experienced divers with Deep Diver specialty should do the dive as the depth can easily exceed 40 meters. Apart from the car wrecks and the cave, Migra Ferha can offer some big boulders with tiny swim troughs and some very unique marine life. This common eagle ray is a good example of what you might expect there.
